To the Victor the spoils!

01 Jun

Before anyone reads on and tells me that there is a car-name based pun in the title – it is deliberate.

Vauxhall cars are in trouble! Or rather General Motors the U.S.A. based parent company are in “Big, Big Trouble” which leaves GM Europe at the next level down in “Big Trouble” and Vauxhall in the U.K. in “Trouble”.

As I understand it, in return for U.S. Government help GM has to slim down to being solely a U.S. Company which means it has to sell off GM Europe. My further understanding is that potential purchasers of GM Europe may very well not want Vauxhall in the U.K. as part of the deal.

It is, after all, in Luton. Nuff said!

So now everyone at Vauxhall is looking out for someone to buy them separately from the rest of GM Europe. Various organisations have been suggested as showing an interest but in my opinion there is only one U.K. Company that should be considered.

And that’s Norwich Union!

Yes I know it’s an Insurance company and I know it’s currently going through a re-branding exercise but it MUST buy Vauxhall AND it MUST insist on having a new model named after it as part of the rescue package.

Then, when the re-branding is complete you will be able to go to your local showroom and purchase………….

A Vauxhall AVIVA!!

And if anyone needs THAT explaining to them they can find someone else to do it!

Personally, I think your piece demonstrates a cavalier attitude.

(You left me that one, didn’t you?!)
